Dear [Salutation]:
I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to share a letter from your scholarship recipient as well as an update on our progress at the University of Michigan Medical School. In this year’s impact report, you will find statistics pertaining to the incoming class profile as well as other relevant information, our students’ voices outlining their journey through medical school, and personal letters from Michigan Medicine leaders.
While we pride ourselves on our accomplishments, including the addition of the new Clinical Simulation Center, our robust curriculum, and the profound guidance our world-class mentors are known for, it is essential to recognize the most significant aspect of the Medical School: donors like yourself. Because of you, we have been granted the opportunity to develop ideas into breakthroughs and lead the way in education. Your generosity has helped cultivate a compassionate learning environment that is sensitive to the ever-changing needs of medicine – ensuring that our future doctors are prepared to address the clinical and emotional needs of their patients. Our mission of excellence in education has been strengthened each and every year, assuring our students’ transitions to sympathetic physicians and perceptive scientists is guided, thoughtful, and thorough.
Through your support, deserving scholars are given a chance to excel. The best and brightest have placed their trust and future in the University of Michigan, and as such, we devote ourselves to answering their call to serve mankind through medicine. The legacy of philanthropy that you have created for them has opened doors where once stood looming walls, and brought to reality what were once only dreams and ambitions. The life-changing effect of your generosity is not the only gift received; the greatest gift lies in the strengths and compassion that our graduates will bring to patient rooms and laboratories in Michigan and around the world.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Marschall S. Runge, M.D., Ph.D.
